The Breaking Point

Yes, so I wrote another one. I'm not going to speculate about how many more parts there will be to the arc, but there will definitely be at least two more, and both of them will be LONG. I won't probably get to them until after I finish Kink Bingo.

This instalment is sortof a bridging fic between The Breaking Point, and the new stories I plan to write in the arc. It was also written for the kink_bingo prompt Roleplay/AU (master/slave) XD!

So recently Miko and I have gotten super into beading. We found this bead store not far from our house that offered free classes - you just have to buy the materials. And it's totally amazing. We've gotten rather obsessed with it recently and our necklace/bracelet/earring collection has exploded.

I posted a picture to my plurk of the latest necklace I made myself for pride weekend, which is ( under the cut )

Anyway, a few people expressed interest in having one of their own, so I'm making a Dreamwidth/Insanejournal post to keep track.

I'd like to charge $25-30 for them (Canadian funds) just to make up for my time and recoup my material costs (which are minimal, it's more about the time since they take about 5 hours to make). I hope that sounds reasonable. A shorter necklace will cost more like $25, while a longer one will be more like $30. Shipping will be extra, but I doubt that'll be much, considering the weight is light.

If anyone would like one of the necklaces, please post below with the length you want. If you aren't sure, measure a necklace you feel is the same length as the necklace you want and just give me the length in inches.

Also, I'm happy to do variants - if you don't want a rainbow and want different colours, let me know. I may charge a teeny bit more just to make up for the fact that I have to buy a bunch of containers of seed beads.

Edit: I will also happily make bracelets in the same design. They will be about $15 ^_^

Summary & Notes: Auron is lonely after Jecht and Braska get together on the pilgrimage, but Braska and Jecht want to make sure he knows he's included. Written for the kink_bingo prompt "double penetration (one hole)".

I...I should have said something before, because I found out about this a few days ago. But it's taken me some time to let it sink in, and I wanted to tell all of my family first and such.

SO ANYWAY, NOW I'M TELLING THE WORLD.

I will be going to the University of British Columbia law school this September, instead of returning to the Frozen Twat of Canada - otherwise known as Winnipeg.

It couldn't be better news, seriously. I was pretty sure with my grades I would get into University of Victoria, which is on Vancouver Island and about a 2.5 hour trip from home, including a 1.5 hour ferry ride and not including a wait for said ferry ride. If that had happened, I would have been able to come home on weekends and such, and possibly, POSSIBLY work for Mom one day a week.

I didn't really expect to get into UBC because they only accepted one transfer student last year, and even with my amazing grades I figured that SOMEONE in all of the world would want to get into UBC and would have better grades than me. Apparently not!

With this, I can stay in my own apartment and not move, Miko can continue working at her job that she enjoys and which gives her lots of hours. And after extensive poking at my schedule, I am quite certain that I can work for Mom one day a week first semester, and two days a week second semester. Which is good for rent and being able to eat.

In other news, I'm doing JulNoWriMo and have started a new novel for it, called OtherWhere. I'm about 7000 words in and enjoying it immensely. I'm trying to do the 50,000 words JUST on OtherWhere, and my 2yn and other stuff are on top of that. We'll see. If I get 50,000 words total for the month, it'll be an accomplishment as always, but I do really want to get OtherWhere done as soon as possible because I'll be starting writing my 2yn novel in September or something. Eep.

So with all that in mind, I signed up for Kink Bingo (I may have mentioned that in a previous post) and I'm going to try to do one story off of the bingo card each weekend. So, watch this space for Jecht/Auron/Braska, double penetration (one hole), later today or tomorrow. >D

OK, I haven't really been good at reading my various flists for several weeks now and I think I figured out at least partly why. Firstly, I have two flists, but I think that would be made easier if there were less duplication, and the flists I have were less cluttered.

So today I went through my IJ flist and got rid of like 98% of my feeds and communities. I haven't really been reading fanfiction in oh... 5-6 years now, so it didn't really make sense to have so many fandom communities friended, and right now I'm not really participating in challenges, either. I haven't removed myself from the communities, just stopped watching them, so I may add them back on if I get bitten by the bug once more.

If I've accidentally unfriended you and you think it was unintentional (it should be, I only got rid of feeds and communities) please let me know.

Also, if people who have both a DW and an IJ account could please let me know which one you'd prefer I watch, that'd be really helpful. I need to sit down and figure out who is duplicating and unfriend one, but it would help me if you could just tell me who you are.

In the meantime, life is good, work is crazy as usual. I may be going to Vegas in August (wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) and I just finished the novel I started back in November (bigger wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee). I'm planning on starting another one in July. I'm doing a lot of writing and writing work...but none of it is fandom related, so that's why it's been so quiet on my end ^^;;;; Oh well?

I'm in the midst of importing my insanejournal to this journal. I wonder how long it's going to take, lol.

I also wonder if it's worthwhile trying to go and import my original LJ here, too, or if that will mess me up. When I transferred to IJ, I imported all of my entries, but tags and comments didn't come with. DW allows you to bring tags and comments... but if I import my LJ after importing my IJ, will I get duplicate entries? That'd be a pain in the ass.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, lemme know. But that wasn't actually the thing I wanted to ask about.

I had an epiphany last night about a novel idea I was stuck on for many, many months, and I'm looking for some feedback. Basically, in the novel much of the action is going to take place in an MMORPG, which is run through virtual reality, and run by a creative, intelligent AI. I got stuck all those months ago because I needed a creative idea for the videogame setting, and I didn't have one.

I think I have one! If people could read through my notes and let me know what they think of my idea, that'd be so helpful. I was specifically looking for something that's not just another World of Warcraft idea, and which doesn't involve a lot of resource farming or pointless wandering around to kill monsters. Obviously this idea can't be implemented with our current technology level, but that's OK. If you have ideas of other features that could be included, I'd love to hear them, too!

And if you have ideas for other character classes or sub-classes, that would also be awesome.

The first section of notes was the original stuff I wrote months ago. Starting at the "Videogame Aspect" is the stuff that I came up with last night/this morning, so if there are any inconsistencies, consider the latter stuff to be accurate.

Well, I got a dreamwidth account, because an invite was offered to me. I understand it's cool, but um... I don't really know why, heh. I guess if cross-posting is easy, then I will start crossposting everything, maybe even use my LJ account again, idk. I found semagic to be a pain, just because opening a whole program just to post to IJ was an extra step, but if it's built in then maybe I'll do it.

And now an update on my life orz.

I spent a month or so frantically studying like a mad person and it paid off. I checked my grades yesterday and other than Criminal Law, which hasn't been entered yet so I don't know my grade, I officially am a straight A student. At law school. This is the part where I stare at myself in awe and say "dang, self, you go".

I really must have not had a life this last 8 months.

I've been home for about a week, and my ass has been firmly planted on the couch. Oh, except when I've been out with friends, and running on a track. It's been a VERY good week, though I'm looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow. Obviously, I am insane, but oh well. I miss my mommy, or something.

I didn't really write much of anything in April, because I realized that there were three possibilities: I could study and write, I could study and sleep, or I could write and sleep. All three was not possible, so I gave up writing until finals were over. It took a bit of time to get back into the swing of things, but I'm back on the horse now and things are going well.

I'm not sure how much fanfiction I'm going to be writing in the next little while. I've signed up for no_true_pair and there are some decent prompts that came out of that, so I may write a couple of them. Otherwise, I'm 5 chapters from finishing the novel I started in November, (Sleep of Death), so I definitely want to get that DONE SOON so I can put it away and pull it out at the end of the summer, polish it, and submit it for publication. I'm serious about this one. I really do think it's got a shot.

If anyone's interested in reading the first draft of a story about a world where death was sealed away for 300 years and has now escaped, you can read it on my writing journal jsteiner. It's flocked, but you can request to be added and I'm happy to add you back. I just ask that you not save anything or post it elsewhere on the internet where a potential publisher googling it could find it.

Meanwhile, I'm also taking a course called the Two-Year Novel. It started in January, and while it started off really slow, it's starting to require more and more attention. Good timing. By the time I finish Sleep of Death, I'll probably be focused on planning the new one, which is called The Dreaming. I'm supposed to start writing that around September, and I'll most likely devote NaNoWriMo to taking a big bite out of it. The idea of the course is to be submitting the book for publication by the end of two years.

Also, I bought an XBox 360 and Rockband 2. My XBox Live account name is Chichiri no da, to no one's likely surprise. If anyone has a Gold Membership and Rockband, I have a 1-month free one, and I'd love to play some night! Miko and I are kindof obsessed. Miko loves the drums and is decent on bass, while I'm good with bass, guitar and vocals, but complete and utter fail on drums.

And that's life XD! I'm heading off this afternoon to have lunch with some friends I haven't seen in forever, and to watch Wolverine.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who's been reading and encouraging me through this. I've written all of this in like... 3 weeks? And the whole thing is over 50,000 words, so it was a serious undertaking. I-I may write more in this universe at some point, but I make no promises. I really do love them, though. So much. And I hope this is the ending that you've all hoped for.
